One of the new things we’re trying in 2017 is being a Chewy Influencer. The cats were more than excited when we signed up, since they will get to try out food, treats and products for cats.
Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Cat Treats
First up for the cats to try was the Natural Balance L.I.T. Limited Ingredient Cat Treats, rabbit flavor. I was happy to see this offering, as Sophie has been on a limited ingredient diet for quite a while.
When she first arrived at the casa of two chatty cats, she had tummy troubles that required numerous vet visits. (Read Sophie visits the vet for a little look back.) Things finally cleared up when the vet suggested a limited ingredient diet (LID). Since then, Sophie has been eating one of the LID offerings from Natural Balance.
So, I knew Sophie would appreciate being able to partake in this first offering from Chewy to review. And as these pictures show, all three of the cats were interested in the Natural Balance treats.
Taste Testing the Treats
Being the eldest of the cats, Dexter was up first. (He could care less about the “ladies first” sentiment.) He performed a sniff check – they passed – and then gobbled up a couple of treats.

Olive loves crunchy treats and pretty much shoved Dexter out of the way to get at ‘em. Even down five teeth (from her last dental), Olive crunched these up just fine.

And finally, Sophie got to try the limited ingredient treats. She was a little overeager, considering she rarely gets crunchy treats and almost took my finger off.

About the Treats
I was a little disappointed to see chicken fat listed in these limited ingredient treats. But so far, Sophie has tolerated them just fine. They are made in the USA and contain no corn, wheat, soy, artificial flavors or colors. All three cats love them.

Ingredients: Rabbit, Potato, Potato Protein, Potato Starch, Dried Cane Molasses, Chicken Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Dried Cane Molasses, Brewer’s Dried Yeast, Natural Flavor, Mixed Tocopherols (preservative).
You can get a 2 oz bag of these Natural Balance cat treats from Chewy.com for $2.99.
Btw, for all of you who guessed which cat was featured in the last Wordless Wednesday post – drum roll, please…it was Dexter!

After the limited ingredient rabbit flavour kibble I fed my guys and foster Chaz, I swore no more rabbit! Their poop was possibly the worst thing I’ve ever smelled! And since fostering (not to mention my guy’s anal gland trouble) I’ve smelled some pretty awful things. But apparently it doesn’t affect all cats that way as another foster was happy to take the rest of the bag off my hands. And maybe treats aren’t enough to make a difference. Happy that Sophie got to try them. I always feel sad for my restricted (whether diet or health reasons) fosters who can’t have treats.
I am glad they were a hit with all 3. Great review.
It’s amazing that you came out of that treat experiment with all of your fingers intact! That blooper pic of Olive is adorable!
were you unhappy with the chicken fat because you were trying to avoid chicken?
Glad to hear they liked the treats! :)
Yes, she should avoid chicken.
LOVE the pictures! You can see each cat’s personality perfectly in their approach to treats :)
We have a chubby cat so we don’t do treats in our house. I like limited ingredients for regular kibble though. I have one cat with a sensitive stomach, the chubby one gets diarrhea, one doesn’t like poultry and the new one will eat the house if left to her own devices. I’ve used Natural Balance and like their products.
That was a great review! I think limited ingridients means 2 or 3 though.
Good point. I was under the impression it was a single source of animal protein. I googled it and see a couple different definitions, one being just a few ingredients like you mentioned. And that it can vary from brand to brand, unfortunately. Thanks for pointing that out!
Those look tasty. We’ll have to give them a try. :)
Aaaaaaaaaaaw We’re so glad Sophie got some treats. Every kitty needs a treat every once in a while, even those on LID’s. Great review. Do you need da Chewy logo badge and da chewy blog hop badge? We can send ’em to ya’ via email. Big hugs

What a fun review! I love the pictures, and I’m so glad everyone enjoyed what they received for their first Chewy review :)
Great post and we love Chewy, they are the only humans who send us cards!

Welcome to the program! We love Natural Balance food! This is a great review. .
Whoa! Glad they were a hit! When Aunt Pauline’s cat Shamrock had an intolerance to chicken, it was so hard to find a food that didn’t have chicken hidden in it.
Looks like they all enjoyed the “reviewing” process!!
Those sound really yummy! I think that Manna had a chance to try those long ago. It is great that they have LID treats available for kitties that have allergies.
Someone mention treats? purrs
I was going to guess that the Wordless Wednesday cat was “one of the cats who’s a cat?” I only recognize my own.
Thanks for the treats review. We’re currently using Chewy subscribe & save for Boo’s prescription food (even though it the other cats who eat it and, while “vacationing” at the vet’s, she seems not to need it) so maybe we’ll add on a bag or 2 of those!
Good job with the review! We’re glad that the treats were a hit with your beautiful kitties!
Woo hoo Chatty Cats, great review, we LOVED the nomming video – just amazing! MOL XOX
