Well, we’ve arrived at another Friday. I hesitate to say my usual “Happy Friday” because of the news I have to share. We said goodbye to Eddie last week. Here’s what I shared on Facebook over the weekend:
Eddie ran off to the rainbow bridge on Friday. He shared 17 years of his life with us and was our first pet. Eddie played big brother to three cats — and more recently tolerated our last two additions. We adopted Eddie on June 22, 2003. We said goodbye on July 3, 2020. He had a long, full life – and we miss him terribly. RIP, Eddie. (Grass photo is one week after we adopted him. Bow tie photo is after one of his last grooming sessions this year.)
Happy Friday! This week seemed long even though it’s a short work week here in the U.S. for many (since today is the observed holiday for Independence Day). I’m definitely looking forward to a nice, long and hopefully relaxing weekend. How about you?
Happy Friday! We had quite the full week here. Dexter’s 10th Gotcha Day on Saturday, Father’s Day on Sunday, a vet visit on Monday…I guess just treats and cuddles the rest of the week, but that can still be time-consuming!
Happy Friday! Not much going on this week…besides Olive’s 9th Gotcha Day! Kitten Olive made her way to us as a stray back on June 7, 2011. When no one responded to our “found kitten” sign, she became our second cat (of the original Three Chatty Cats).
Happy Friday! So, I wanted to share with you what I’ve been spending (way too much) time on during quarantine. My birthday was last month, and Ross bought me the game Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which is the hot game that coincidentally came out March 20th and was the perfect timing for people staying safe at home. Over 13.4 million copies were sold in the first six weeks – and I’m sure it’s still going strong. The idea is that you move to a deserted island and work to build it up into a place where villagers will want to come live. Basically, you’re creating your own dream island.
I had never played earlier versions of Animal Crossing before (or any video game, really), but I’m hooked! Here is my cat room that I built in my house. I imported photos of my cats, of course. There’s even a litter box and cat beds on the other side of the room. Any other fellow Animal Crossing players here? If so, let’s island hop!
Happy Friday! Yesterday, the Cat Writers’ Association announced the 2019 Certificate of Excellence Winners. I’m over the moon to have received certificates for 7 of the 8 entries I submitted (details below). A very big congratulations to all of the certificate winners! Can’t wait to see who is honored with MUSE Medallions later this year during the virtual awards ceremony.
Happy Friday! This week’s quarantine win was finding a bread maker on Amazon! And then finding flour…and then finding yeast! So needless to say, someone will be making homemade bread once it all arrives. I think I’m mostly looking forward to how good our house will be smelling soon. I hope you had a quarantine win this week!
Happy Friday! First off, thanks for all of the supportive comments last week when I said I wasn’t sure if I’d continue with these Friday recaps. I’m dropping in today with another one and will do my best to keep posting them. But if I skip a week, don’t be surprised… although I think the cats would be mad at me. So, we’ll see how it goes.
