Chatty Cats: Laps, Apps and More!
Happy Friday! I hope the week has treated you well. The cats have been enjoying the cooler weather here. And by cooler, I mean 80s. We hit 108 the week before, and I heard we had the highest humidity in the nation for a bit. Not something we’re used to here in Southern California. But 80s allows for window whiffies here in the morning hours at least. Here’s to a weekend of cool weather and lots of relaxation. Have a wonderful weekend!
Reintroductions
The “cooler” weather means more curl-ups in the Sleepypod mini. We don’t use this one for car travel, but it’s the perfect size for a single cat to cozy up in.
Olive: Mama, I’m not getting in there.
Mama: Why not?
Olive: It stinks like Woodrow.
Mama: You two need to share.
Olive: Have we met?!?
Woodrow: I think so. But my name is Woodrow, nice to meet you!
Olive: You are quite literally the Dum Dum.
Woodrow: That’s Lovable Dum Dum to you!
While Woodrow owns his moniker, Olive decides the Sleepypod isn’t that stinky and curls up.
Shoddy Apps
Meanwhile, Sophie deals with laptime woes.
Sophie: Mama, I believe I reserved your lap from 10am to 6pm.
Mama: That’s a long reservation time.
Sophie: Well, the system accepted it.
Mama: And what system is that?
Sophie: Mama’s Lap Time for Sophie Only Reservation System! It’s an app. I downloaded it!
Guster: Well, I hacked it!
Sophie: Gahhh! That app gets a one-star review!
Don’t worry, Sophie got her lap cuddles.

High heat and high humidity make some of us humans very grumpy!
Okay, okay…I’m the one who gets cranky.
To uncranky myself, I lay down on the bed to listen to my audiobook, and Henry always comes along to snuggle up and purr.
Yeah, that’s the way to roll.

Haha! Reminds me of when Ellie used to complain about Bear’s farts in her lap bed. Boys can be gross (except Woodrow, because Ellie Mae said).
