Chatty Cats: Woodrow’s Gotcha Day

Happy Friday! Today is Woodrow’s 5th Gotcha Day! We fostered Woodrow (then Lion) in 2017 for a couple of months before deciding we couldn’t give him up. He became the first Jr. Associate on August 12, 2017. And now, as you know, we affectionately refer to Woodrow as the Lovable Dum Dum.

Woodrow’s Gotcha Day

Mama: Guess what today is?
Woodrow: Friday!
Mama: Well, yes. Kind of surprised you knew that. But why is today special?

Woodrow: Because I knew what day it is?
Mama: Think hard.
Woodrow: Dis is my thinking hard face.

Mama: How about I just tell you?
Woodrow: Okay.
Mama: Today is your 5th Gotcha Day!
Woodrow: I’m five years old today?!?
Mama: You’re older than- … never mind. Happy Gotcha Day!

So am I five or not?

A Look Back at Lion

Here are some photos of Woodrow Lion when he was still our foster cat.

On the way home to our house from the shelter. This should’ve been my first clue that he wouldn’t be leaving.

Still getting used to things.

Enjoying the view.

All settled in 10 days after arriving.

  1. Happy Gotcha Day, handsome! We’d totally forgotten his name was Lion! Just curious … where did Woodrow come from?

    1. We wanted a W name. And one of our fave TV show’s has a character named Woody (who’s also a dum dumm), but we liked the full name of Woodrow.

  2. Happy Gotcha Day, Woodrow!!! I’m so hapoy for you and your family; they wouldn’t be complete without you! 😻

  3. Happy Gotcha Day Woodrow. Of course you always knew it was going to be your forever home!
