Chatty Cats: Comfy, Delicious and More!

Happy Friday! We had a nice, quiet and cozy week here. Lots of cuddles between the cats. And a little bit of sass from Miss Sophie. We hope you had a wonderful week.

Here’s what the cats were up to this week!

Comfy Tortie

Mama: Are you two comfy?
Olive: Yes, why?
Mama: You’re kind of smashed together.
Olive: We’re fine!
Dexter: I’m…
Olive: Dexter!
Dexter: …fine too.

I originally snapped this photo because it’s rare to see Olive and Woodrow together. And then someone decided he had to come check things out. Happy Caturday, friends!

Sassy Girl

Mama: Sophie, get off the table.
Sophie: What’s the magic word?
Mama: Now!
Sophie: That’s not it. Try again.
Mama: Sophie!
Sophie: Wrong! Only one try left.
Mama: I’m counting to three…
Sophie: Ooo, that’s more than one word.

Mama: Hiya, handsome.
Harley: Not now, Mama. I smell something delicious.
Mama: Is it my cooking?
Harley: I said something delicious.
Mama: Ouch.

To be fair, we humans are vegetarians in this house. So, the cats must endure the smells of the neighbors grilling things like mouth-watering salmon and steak but cannot partake.

Tired Tuesday

Olive: ∗yawn∗ Top that!
Dexter: ∗YAWN∗
Olive: Whoa.

Three Chatty Cats

Woodrow: Look, Ma!
Mama: Yes?
Woodrow: We’re the Three Chatty Cats!!
Mama: Cute.
Woodrow: Teehee.

For those wondering about our name… When I started our blog in 2016, we had three cats. Dexter, Olive and Sophie are the Three Chatty Cats. Woodrow and Harley were both foster fails (in 2017 and 2018), and we refer to them as the Junior Associates. Looks like Woodrow is trying to promote himself. The peer review didn’t go so well…

Still Sassy

Mama: Whiskers!!
Sophie: Who is Whiskers?
Mama: No one. I was talking about you.
Sophie: My name is Sophie, Mama. Sooophie.
Mama: Smart aleck.
Sophie: Who’s Aleck?

Bonus Flashback Friday

This photo of Woodrow was taken two years ago on February 25, 2020. He’s being a little dramatic, don’t ya think?

  1. Well dramatic definitely gets attention. Teddy gets dramatic if I’m not able to cater to his whims on “his” timeframe but it just makes me laugh. Teddy is about to turn six and just this winter became more “sensitive” to the cold outside. He is an outdoors with supervision kitty and loves being outside for short walks but he really does NOT like cold wind. He’s starting to tell me when it’s time to go back inside instead of vice versa! Thanks for the conversations and photos from the Chatties…..always fun so see them.

    Hugs, Pam (and Teddy too)

  3. Not so much smashed as smooshed together, Olive and Dexter. Woodrow, you pose so nicely with the wooden cats.

  4. You always get such cute shots of your kitties. I love the one of Dexter and Olive with their whiskers intertwined. And Sophie , your mama should say please if she wants you to get off the table. :) Have a nice weekend. XO
