Happy Friday! How was everyone’s week? Dexter had his annual exam on Saturday, as you’ll see below. But other than that, not much going on. So, we’ll get right to it!
Here’s what the cats were up to this week!
Missed Reference?
Mama: Olive, smile! 📸
Olive: Hey! I’m walkin’ here!
#pawparazzi
(When I posted this on social media, I don’t think people got what I was referencing. Then I second-guessed myself and showed it to Ross. He immediately got it – but we are married, so maybe that doesn’t count. Does anyone know what I’m referencing?)
Dexter Visits the Vet
Mama: How you doing?
Dexter: I’m not talking to you.
Mama: You just did.
Dexter: Starting now.
Mama: Dexter?
Dexter: Yes?
Mama: Gotcha!
Dexter: Mama! I’m not in the mood!!
#dextervisitsthevet
Dexter had his annual exam today (and it was a senior exam!). He did very well. His physical exam looked good, and we’ll have his bloodwork back soon. Hope your Caturday was more fun than Dexter’s!
Good Morning
Sunday morning sun with Harley. ☀️
#goodmorning
Boopsies!
Mama: May I?
Sophie: You may.
Mama: BOOP!
#boopable
Tux Watch
Woodrow: Mama!!
Mama: What?
Woodrow: Tux is looking at me.
Mama: So? You’re looking at him.
Woodrow: He started it.
Mama: You could end it.
Woodrow: I’ll never look away. Never!
Mama: Okay, have fun.
Woodrow: Wait, bring me some snackies, some eye drops and my pillow. It’s gonna be a long night.
#neighborhoodcatwatch
Tux is a neighborhood cat that Woodrow loves to watch through the window. He’ll race from window to window to keep tabs on him. Does your cat have an outdoor friend? (Or arch nemesis?)
Nippy Wednesday
Olive: Whoa!
Mama: What’s up?
Olive: Look at this paw.
Mama: Your paw?
Olive: It’s like the prettiest paw I ever did see.
Mama: Have you been in the nip again?
Olive: Mayyybe.
#catnippedcat
Grumpster
Mama: Snug as a bug in a box.
Dexter: Are you calling me a bug?
Mama: No.
Dexter: You’re not very good at rhyming.
Mama: Anything else you’d like to tell me?
Dexter: I’m hungry.
Mama: And grumpy.

Bonus Friday Photo
Pawsies! (The other side of Dexter from above.)
Have a wonderful weekend!
Follow our daily chats on Facebook and Instagram – or catch up on past chats!
Bear used to run from window to window and caterwaul. There was a tiny black cat that visited us every night – and Bear would carry on for hours. I assumed she was a lady cat, but I might be wrong. It seemed like they were interested in each other – vs. territorial.
Poor Dexter! Going to the vet is no fun, but it’s really important. Hope Mommy gave you treats for your troubles. Watch that nip, Olive. Or watch your paw,. Whichever you choose.
It is the prettiest paw!
Midnight Cowboy? I’ve never seen the whole thing but that scene is pretty famous.
Those are some pretty serious “ears of annoyance” on Dexter. ;-)
What a collection of wonderful purrsonalities!
I’ve never been a fan of neighborhood cats visiting me. They better stay away! ~Ernie
it is the most pawsome paw of slice earth… and we are glad that the exam brought good news… paws crossed that the lab results bring also goooood news to you
dustin hoffman, we got it!
We ran from window to window when we lived upstairs and also had two levels of window seats. That worked out when someone was hissy with another just hop to the next level and keep on watching. You all are sweet as sugar this seek. Or is that Nip, Olive?
Dustin Hoffman, Midnight Cowboy? I’m feeling very un-movie-trivia-like today – I’ll have to check it out. Vet visits are never fun, but it sounds like all is well, yay! I think you have purrfect paws Olive – sweet girl. Sending a virtual boop to Sophie.
Love those paws! Hey Dexter, at least it’s over til nexts time. Y’all have a super fun weekend!
my Angel Bobo used to keep watch outside when I lived in a first floor apartment. He would run from window to window and to the door……there were deer and other kitties. Some kitties were so brazen they would sit on our air conditioner right at the window and drive poor Bobo nuts!
Ted loves visitors at our front door and announces every single one of them differently. There is a fairly steady group of three cats – the next door cat who is made to stay out all night……then two really small cats who look related – but are always very hungry……Teddy lets me know when someone has come to the all you can eat breakfast bar we operate and I take a bowl of food out for them when they visit. Not every day but most – at least one of them. Love ALL the photos this week – Sophie certainly does have a very boopable nose…..and Dexter’s pawsies and feeties – all cute!
Happy weekend
Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
I am not surprised if Dexter is grumpy. I bet he didn’t even know he was going to the vet until the last minute when swoosh, he is thrown into a carrier and sped away in a car.
I was thinking Dustin Hoffman too. You have a lovely paw, Olive.
Olive, did you have a nip hangover too?
Midnight cowboy! I’ve never seen it but I know the scene.
Beba considers all outdoor cats her enemy but most especially the black ones for some reason (she a tux). Toonces is exactly the opposite… loves all other cats and most especially Morticia, a solid black.
I hope Dexter’s bloodwork comes back good. He doesn’t look like a senior. :) XO
Dustin Hoffman! We totally got it. :)
Glad Dexter did okay at the vet. We hope his bloodwork comes back good, too.
Didn’t get it but anything Olive sez is alright. Harley is looking very dramatic. I just chirp at birds but Nicky once started throwing himself against the window when a stray cat came in the porch.
guyz…..pleez ta tell yur mom we dinna get it…..but then we due knot get out much either…
