As a cat parent to five (chatty) cats, I’m always on the lookout for a quality pet carrier for our outings. So, when the company Lil-Paws reached out to me about reviewing their 5-in-1 Premium Pet Carrier, I jumped at the chance. Check out Woodrow’s inspection below and then enter our giveaway!
We received the 5-in-1 Premium Pet Carrier free of charge from Lil-Paws in exchange for an honest review. All opinions stated here are our own. Three Chatty Cats only shares information we feel would be relevant to our readers.
The Sniff-Check Begins
Woodrow: Mama, it has arrived!
Mama: Should we open it up?
Woodrow: I need to complete my exterior box examination first. Don’t rush me.
Woodrow: I like to give it a really thorough inspection, you know?
Mama: Right, of course.
Woodrow: Okay, let’s take a look at the contents.
Woodrow: Mm-hmm, that’s nice. Soft to the touch, my toesies are pleased.
Mama: Ready for me to put it together?
Woodrow: Yes, then I’ll check your work.
Mama: There’s not really any assembly required. I just need to put in the fleece pad.
Woodrow: I approve of your assembly skills. Well done, you.
Mama: How does it feel inside?
Woodrow: It’s nice and roomy…
Woodrow: …and…aww yeah, love that new carrier smell.
Mama: Inspection complete?
Woodrow: One last thing…let’s see if it passes the ol’ scratch test!
(The answer is yes…it passes the ol’ scratch test.)
Lil-Paws Pet Carrier Features
Now that Woodrow has settled into the carrier, let me share with you some of the highlights of the 5-in-1 Premium Pet Carrier.
The Lil-Paws goal is to provide a carrier for all of your essential travel needs – be that quick trips locally (like to the vet or groomer) or for fun outings to the park for the more adventurous cat. It can be used as a standard pet carrier or used as a backpack. And if you fly with your cat, you can rest assured that the Lil-Paws carrier is TSA airline approved.
The 5-in-1 functionality refers to:
- Pet carrier
- Pet backpack
- Car seatbelt loops
- Anti-anxiety and waterproof cover
- Luggage perch for airport check-in
In addition to the above features, the carrier also has:
- Two extra-large pockets for storage
- A padded and removable shoulder strap
- Two washable fleece pads
- Two bonus slow-feeding, collapsible silicone bowls
The carrier itself can be wiped down with a damp cloth, and the two included fleece pads are machine washable.
Lil-Paws Pet Carrier Review
We’ve now covered the carrier’s features, and as you can see, the Lil-Paws pet carrier appears to pass Woodrow’s inspection. But what did I (the human) think of it?
My first impression was that it’s sturdy and very well made. I had complete confidence that it would hold Woodrow’s 14-pound frame just fine. (I have other carriers that I’ll only use with my smaller cats because of that concern.)
What I also really like about this carrier is that you can secure it in the car with its built-in seatbelt loops. Many companies leave out this feature – but isn’t keeping your pet safe during outings the most important part of traveling?
As for the backpack feature, I’ll be honest, my cats are not adventure cats. So, this would be their first encounter being carried on a back. I knew that Dexter, Olive and Harley would never allow this – but Woodrow and Sophie were game.
While I won’t say that either was thrilled using it as a backpack, I’m pretty sure any seasoned adventure cat would be just fine. And while I don’t plan on using it as a backpack, I do think it’s a very handy feature in case of an emergency when you may need your hands free but also need to transport your pet at the same time.
Overall, we liked everything about this carrier except for one feature that fell short- the anti-anxiety cover. The company was going for two things at once – an anti-anxiety cover and a waterproof cover. Because of it being waterproof, I don’t feel the fabric is “airy” enough, if that makes sense. When I provided my feedback on the cover, Lil-Paws indicated that they are already looking to improve the cover in their next manufacturing run. It’s great that the company takes and incorporates user feedback.

So, there you have it! We found the Lil-Paws 5-in-1 Premium Pet Carrier to be sturdy, secure and a great overall carrier. And most importantly, Woodrow gives it four paws up! It will definitely get a lot of use at our house.

that is the best cat taxi ever!!! we love it and we wish we could buy carriers in our size too… but no clue who can carry them LOL
That’s a really nice carrier……….sadly Teddy at 22 lbs. is just too big for most carriers and I could never cram him inside this one I’m sure! He’s leash trained though so we are able to take him places like the vet with no issues and like your kitties he’s not an adventure cat (unless you count going for walks in the yard!!). This does look like a great carrier for those who have NORMAL sized cats though!
Hugs, Pam
My cats would prefer memory foam cushion over a fleece pad……they are used to our memory foam mattress and their special full size memory foam pillows.
I LOVE sear belt loops!! Did any cats scratch the mesh screen? I’ve enjoyed a 2nd hand soft carrier for small/mid size cats but my most recent rescue managed to rip tbe mesh within seconds.
I spend an inappropriate amount of time planning how I’d evac all my cats in an emergency. I love the idea of being able to put one in a backpack with others in carriers.
Thanks for the review. If I ever have income again I’ll buy one! For now, I super dooper wanna be in the raffle!!
I have a 19# tuxedo cat. He has a large enough carrier however when he goes to the vet he insists on bringing hi 11 pound bangle sister. They are a little hard to carry. Any ideas? Neither is overweight according to their vet and the are 5.5 years old.
Laurie
I like the seat belt feature. I have a bungie cord in my car to use to strap in carriers so it doesn’t slip off the seat if I have to brake hard. Looks like a great product.
I don’t think my cats would allow a backpack either but the rest looks neat :-)
The thing I like best is the option to top load or side load. And, of course that it passes Woodrow test.
Actually, the first thing that I liked about this pet carrier is the color!
Interesting design, I think I’d like one (but don’t tell The Hubby; he thinks the hard plastic ones that we bought almost 20 years ago are still ‘good’) *wink*
That is a very well designed carrier, thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Won’t work for my big cat, but my little one (11#’s) would love having her own carrier!
I like all the features and the style/design of the carrier! I think my small cat would love it!
That is one nice carrier and we need another one and would give it a go. Yeah it looks comfy to lay in too
That really does look like a nice one, Brian might be too big for it but it would work nicely for the others!
I do like that seatbelt loop.
That is one very stylish pet taxi!!!
That is a very nice looking carrier with useful features. It seems it passed Woodrow’s thorough testing.
This carrier looks very durable and useful. We have an ancient hard plastic one and I would love to get a soft one for our new Tuxedo cat. Like the seat belt feature.
That looks like a great carrier…but don’t try to put me in it when it’s a backpack! ~Ernie
The multiple doors especially the big side one are useful for loading cats.
That looks like a nice carrier. I like that you can seatbelt it in.
Over all design and color is nice!
I liked hearing that it could handle Woodrow. Our boy is 13.5 pounds, so it takes a strong carrier to hold him. In addition, I love that is has the seatbelt loops. Those are very important to me for the safety of my kitties.
Great review, guys! Our paws are crossed to win this one!
we like da seet belt loops, mum always seet belts the carrier into the passenger seet, purrsonally, i HATE being in da carrier, if inny wun askz
That’s pretty awesome. I love that it can be used as a regular carrier or a backpack. The seatbelt loops are great!
This carrier sounds wonderful and the critique by Woodrow was spot on. A most sturdy carrier. Shoko would not like the backpack feature but Tyebe would give it a go.
Jean
I like the carrier because it looks very sturdy. My cat is pretty hefty and would probably stand up to his weight. I also like the seatbelt loops. Woodrow and Sophie seem to like it!
My favorite thing about this carrier is the fact it’s a 5 in 1 pet carrier. I especially like the fact that car seatbelt loops to help protect your pet. After Daisy Mae had an unexpected event happen just as you got to the vet. What was that unexpected event? The roof of her pet carrier fell in on top of her so this pet carrier would come in very handy and be very helpful.
Hope I Win.
This carrier looks wonderful for my cat and I have been looking for a new one. I do like that it has an Anti-anxiety and waterproof cover. She is so nervous when we take her to the vet and I am happy about the built-in seatbelt loops also.
We totally agree. The Anti-Anxiety cover would come handy and designed exactly for this situation. Take benefit of the discount offer asap. :)
That’s a great carrier! We especially love the seatbelt loop feature.
We really hope it comes with a purse! The feature we like most about the carrier is the seat belt loop. I have not been able to find one! Also multiple ways to open for getting cats in carrier.
The waterproof feature is great. It rains so much here…we aim for everything waterproof.
I like that it would be big enough for my cat (14 lbs also)

I like the anti anxiety cover.
I like that it has an anti anxiety cover.
Love the fact that this bag is so versatile. But, my favorite thing is that it’s quite roomy. My larger cat wouldn’t fit, but my smaller one would and I like the fact that she could be comfortable without having too little or TOO MUCH room.
I love that is is a 5 in 1 and I love the polka dot fleece pad for more comfort!
I love that it’s soft and comfy for the cats.
I have to say that I really like that it can be used in the duffel form or the backpack. Sometimes it gets a bit tiring carrying on only one shoulder and being able to switch to a backpack style will make longer treks much easier on my back.
I like the designs and features and that it’s well made.
I like that it’s soft-sided and straps into a car seat easily. We travel a lot!
I like that it has a soft removeable washable pad for the bottom.
I love the backpack feature!! So cool.
I like that the carrier has a soft interior so that my baby can be comfy when he travels.
I like that it is sturdy and very well made.
I like the seatbelt loops and the waterproof cover. Great features!

Just found your blog while researching the Litter Robot. Love your posts and will most likely spend the rest of the day reading all of them in chronological order. Looking for a new carrier too, so this review is right on time 😻
Great review. Thank you for bringing to my attention, I’ve just looking to changing out our old pet carrier
