The day to shine a light on shelter and rescue pets, known as Remember Me Thursday, is taking place this week on – you guessed it – Thursday! So, letβs come together and light up social media on September 24th in honor of homeless pets everywhere.
The Goal
It’s simple. Let’s get the world talking about pet adoption! And while doing so, shine a light on homeless pets in shelters and rescues waiting for their forever homes.
How You Can Help
Light up social media on Thursday, September 24th with posts about Remember Me Thursday. Share your rescue pet on Instagram or tweet about your favorite rescue organization – no matter where or what you choose to share, be sure to use the hashtags #SeeTheLight and #RememberMeThursday.
Enter the Contest
Also, be sure to visit the Remember Me Thursday contest page to see how you can submit your rescue pet’s story and have a chance at winning money and prizes for your favorite shelter or rescue. First place gets $5,000 for their favorite organization!
Our Former Shelter Cats
Dexter, Olive and Sophie all found their way to us as stray kittens. But Woodrow and Harley spent time in and out of shelters (both being adopted and returned to the shelter before ending up with us). So, they’re eager to help everyone #SeeTheLight and they hope you all will participate in Remember Me Thursday!
So, together on September 24th, letβs light up social media to find shelter pets (like Woodrow and Harley) their forever homes!
Remember Me Thursday was created by Mike Arms, President and CEO of Helen Woodward Animal Center.
we hope for a lot of homes for all in need… and we hope zhe people will become smarter and help to make this world to a better place for animals…
We hope that everyone remembers that when you need a REAL friend, there is one (or more!) waiting for you at your local shelter. Everyone deserves a forever home – and that’s the place to find someone looking for one.
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
My cats were all considered “less adoptable” for various reasons but they are all perfect pets. No bad behavior. They get along with each other and are there for us.
We’ll sure be there, we wouldn’t miss it.
We are a go for Thursday!
Thanks for the reminder, I nearly forgot!
I didn’t know it was this Thursday.
You got my support! I have 2 that I adopted, Sundance and Shadow! Both in and out of shelters, both considered Unadoptable because of behavior issues! They’re my dearest friends now! Sundance adopted my husbandπΈ Shadow adopted me and nursed me through Cancer!π
I wouldn’t trade them for all the gold in all the galaxies!πΈβ¨ππΎ
There are A Lot of misunderstood animals in shelters. Most just need some time, patients and lots of compassion!πππ And Don’t forget the seniors and special needs animals!π they have more love to give than you can imagine!ππππΎππΈπΈππΎππππ―

We’re working on our post right now! Well, not right now, since we’re here commenting, but you know what we mean. :)
We’re so glad Harley and Woodrow have their happily ever afters!
It’s up to each and every one of us to spread the word about how pawsome rescue pets are!
