Chatty Cats: Cuteness, False Alarms and More!

Happy Friday! (And Happy Valentine’s Day!) You’ll see below that Woodrow had his annual wellness exam this week. We also took Harley in for a kidney value recheck (which we do every three months). Good news – he’s holding steady! When Harley was first diagnosed in September with CKD, it showed he had just barely entered stage 3. His most recent values show he’s in stage 2! While I know you can’t cure or really reverse CKD, obviously the change in diet and administering the fluids twice weekly has helped.

Here’s what the cats were up to this week!

Send Help!

Dexter: Mama? Sophie won’t leave me alone.
Mama: What do you want me to do about it?
Dexter: I don’t know. Some mama thing?
Sophie: Go away, Mama. This is between me and Dexter.
Dexter: ∗whispering∗ Don’t leave me, Mama.

Caturday Cuddles…Anyone?

Mama: Whatcha doing, Woodrow?
Woodrow: Looking for someone for Caturday Cuddles.
Mama: Cat Dad and I are headed out on some errands.
Woodrow: Anyone else around?
Mama: Not at the moment.
Woodrow: This may be the saddest Caturday in the history of Caturdays that ever were a Caturday on Caturday.

A Big Deal

Mama: I’m sorry you’re at the vet.
Woodrow: I’m not talking to you.
Mama: It’s just your annual checkup. No big deal.
Woodrow: No big deal? There must be a better way to take temperature. Until then, I never want to see a thermometer again!
Mama: Hehe. Okay.

Woodrow had his annual wellness exam today. He was very wiggling for his temperature check. All looks good except he has one obvious cavity. So, his next visit will be a dental cleaning and at least one extraction. And unfortunately, I’m sure that will come along with another temperature check and thermometer.

False Alarm

Sophie: Mama, I found my purse!
Mama: That’s not your purse.
Sophie: Are you sure? It’s about the same size.
Mama: Your purse must be huge!
Sophie: I know! So how come I can’t find it?

Happy Tortie

Olive: Oh, what a glorious day! 🎶
Mama: Someone’s in a good mood.
Olive: Sunpuddle. Check. Hammock time. Check.
Mama: Pretty tortie. Check.
Olive: I say check, Mama. Not you.
Mama: Sorry human.
Olive: Check.

Hurt Feelings

Dexter: Yes, you may kiss my paw.
Mama: Um, I didn’t ask to, but sure.
Dexter: Sure? Offer rescinded!
Mama: Okay.
Dexter: Mama! You hurt my paw’s feelings.
Mama: You’re weird.
Dexter: Who isn’t?

  1. Great photos and chats this week……good news for Harley…..not so good thermometer experience for Woodrow…..a possible purse sighting that turned out to be a false alarm for Sophie……and Olive cruising through the whole thing in her hammock. Life is good. Of course!

    Hugs, Teddy (and Mom)

  2. Poor Sophie must have found the Oscars very boring.
That is very good news for Harley.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you!

  3. Wonderful news about Harley! Sophie, I’m with you on the Oscars, and I really had my hopes up that you’d found your purse :) Hope you’re having a purrfect Valentine’s Day!

  4. Good news about Harley and Woodrow. Olive certainly knows how to relax. And the Oscar goes to Sophie for prettiest cat on YouTube. Dexter, I agree, we are all weird.

  5. That thermometer is so embarrissing, but what’s necessary is necessary, right ;) Glad to hear about Harley’s results. That’s really wonderful😸Now I can’t keep my eyes open after seeing you, Sophie💤 MOL….Great conversations again, Oh and here’s that Pawkiss…for all of you🐾😽💞

  6. I like Sophie’s sleepy video, it’s like a child who doesn’t want to miss out on any action but can’t fight it MOL talk about #fomo
And that’s great about Harley! It’s amazing what a world of difference administering fluids makes.
