This past Saturday I attended America’s Family Pet Expo, which is an annual event that takes place at the Orange County Fair Grounds in Southern California. Described as the world’s largest pet and pet products expo, they have everything from adoptable pets and a cat show to pet products and entertainment. I haven’t seen this year’s figures yet, but last year over 50,000 people attended the three-day expo and there are usually hundreds of adoptions each year – including cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, reptiles and more!
It was perfect weather for the expo, which takes place both indoors and outdoors throughout the fairgrounds. Here are some of the things I saw this year.
America’s Family Pet Expo
I was happy to see Moon Cat Cafe at the expo again (which I’ve featured on the blog before). The mobile cafe hosted adoptable cats from different rescues that were at the expo.
While I didn’t visit with any cats while saying hello to owner Janet Pao, I did snap a couple of shots of fun merchandise for sale inside the mobile cat cafe.
As they do every year, Catit had a big presence at the expo. They hosted their usual kitten playground featuring adoptable cats. However, while I was there the kittens were taking a break and not in the playground. I saw Basepaws (which I’ve written about before) and the cat cafe Catmosphere Laguna (also written about). I saw celebrities Moshow (the cat rapper) and Summer the therapy cat. I also watched the judging of a kitten during the cat show – and of course saw lots of adoptable cats!
I’m happy to report that I only purchased one item – a cat hammock. The hammock is handmade and all profits went to the rescue The Cat Cove. As you can see, Woodrow is thoroughly enjoying the cat hammock.
I had a wonderful time at the expo and can’t wait to attend again next year! Are there any pet expos in your area?
P.S. I’ll leave you with some adoptable kittens!

Oh I hope all those little ones got homes as a result of the Expo! Occasionally there’s an Expo here – it’s at a huge place about an hour from here but usually it’s on a weekend and traveling around Washington, DC area on a weekend is – well – TOUGH!!!!! I bet it was fun though!!

Thank you for the report! I intended to go but ended up with a sinus headache all day Saturday, the only day I could have attended. I’m so sorry I missed the pet expo, but at least I got a nice overview in your lovely post!

Oh my gosh, those kittens! Sounds like a fun event. I’ve always wanted to get my guys a hammock. I think Rosie would like it, not sure about Teddy – he’s such a big guy, he might sink it.
