Happy Friday! Earlier this week I was pleasantly surprised to learn that “I Can Has Cheezburger?” wrote a blog post about this Mama and her Chatty Cats! When I noticed a small spike in followers and blog visits I investigated and found this:
Then they selected 13 of our Instagram chats/posts and linked to them. And yes, Sophie is miffed that they left her name off. “Three Chatty Cats” is a little confusing. But I was happy that someone found my blog and 1) thought it was funny, and 2) wrote about it!
Here’s what the cats were chatting about this past week!
Cheese and Crackers?!?
Mama: Whatcha thinking about, Sophie?
Sophie: Crackers, obviously.
Mama: Oh, right. How silly of me.
Sophie: Friday is for thinking about crackers. Saturday is for thinking about cheese. And Sunday is for thinking about-
Mama: Cheese and crackers?
Sophie: Oh, Mama. No one has time to think about cheese AND crackers. Wait, what type of cheese are we thinking about? And is it a salty cracker of more of a buttery cracker? I need to know what I’m thinking about, Mama! Tell me what to think! Tell me, Mama!!!
Mama: You are so weird.
Sophie: Thank you.
I fear that sometimes these chats are more telling about me than the cats. And yes, I’m a fan of cheese and crackers. I keep it simple with Ritz and a decent cheddar. Perhaps pepper jack on the weekends. Happy Friday!
Woodrow: Mama, will you open the screen door for me?
Mama: No, you’re not allowed outside.
Woodrow: Never mind, I’ll do it myself.
Mama: Hey, Stinky. How’s it going?
Harley: Are we still talking about this? It was ONE time, Mama. One time that I got poo stuck to my long furs.
Mama: Yes, we’re still talking about it because it was this morning. You were pretty darn stinky. You know, Harley, if the Oscars had a stinkiest cat category, you just might win.
Harley: Well, like they say…it’s an honor just to be nominated.
I woke up this morning to Harley sitting next to the bed (thankfully not on the bed), and I could tell immediately that something was amiss. Later in the morning, Harley was in his big box and left me a present that he found while grooming. Mystery solved! It was actually the first time (at least that I’m aware of), that he’s had poo stuck to his fur. #longhairedcatproblems
Mama: Why are you staring at me, Olive?
Olive: Well, it’s Monday and I hear that Mondays are hard for humans. So, I just wanted to tell you that I love you and you got this. Monday means nothing, it’s just any other day. You can do it. Go get ’em!
Mama: Um, okay, thanks.
Olive: But maybe a treat first before you go and get them.
Sophie: This is ridiculous, Dexter! Mama is making us work for our treats!
Dexter: I think it’s fun when she hides them. It helps satisfy our hunting instinct.
Sophie: I’d rather satisfy my eating treats instinct. (grumble grumble) Ridiculous I tell ya…
Mama: Woodrow, have you seen my camera?
Harley: Mama, Woodrow is touching me!
Woodrow: I was here first!
Harley: Well, scooch over!
Woodrow: You scooch!
Harley: No, you scooch!
Bonus Friday Photos
Remember last week when I told you we would be having company in town? Well, here’s my little niece Sophie (yes, Sophie!) meeting Woodrow. Sophie the cat was scared of Sophie the baby and didn’t stick around for a photo-op.
No cats here, but these photos are too cute not to share. Sophie experienced Disneyland this week. She’s such a happy baby – not to mention adorable!
Sophie, Pooh and my beautiful sister Mary Kate!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
