Day 10 of 12 Days of Giveaways is all about enriching your cat’s life with the Ripple Rug! We received this interactive cat toy from SnugglyCat Inc. and the cats have been busy playing with it. Read on to see just how much they enjoy the rug!
What Is the Ripple Rug?
If you’ve never heard of this pet enrichment toy, it’s really quite simple. The Ripple Rug is two layers of carpet. The bottom layer, with a non-slip backing, sits flat against the floor. The top layer has Velcro attached in various places to the underside which allows you to attach the top to the bottom in different configurations – creating ripples!
Sophie: Here, I’ll help you set it up, Mama. I’ll hold this in place for you.
Sophie: Hmmm…let’s make this hole a little higher.
Mama: Like this?
Sophie: Perfect. I may just keep you around, Mama. You take direction well.
Mama: What do you think? Is it ready to go?
Sophie: Yep, let’s bring in our official Ripple Rug tester. Dexter, we’re ready!
Dexter Gets Right Down to Business
As soon as Sophie and I were done setting up the Ripple Rug, Dexter knew exactly what to do. We’ve had a Ripple Rug before and Dexter jumped right in!
Dexter: Okay, let me see if you two set this up properly. Yeah, this feels good.
Dexter: Let me give it the ol’ chew test. It passes.
Sophie: Oh, I forgot about the chew test. Let me do that, too. Feels good on the teefies!
Dexter: Sophie, please remove yourself from the rug while I’m testing it. I can’t be distracted by your novice testing skills.
Dexter: Now, for the final check. Let’s take a look inside.
Sophie: Darn it. I forgot to look inside myself. Whoa. It’s so roomy in this ripple!
Dexter: Sophie! I said remove yourself!
Dexter: Well, good job, Mama. Sophie’s right. We should keep you around.
Dexter is the biggest fan of the Ripple Rug. Even when he’s not playing with it, he’s lounging on it. I’ll be walking by the room it’s set up in, and whaddya know, there’s Dexter hanging out on the Ripple Rug.
When playing, I use a wand toy with the cats, sliding it in and out, over and under and all around the Ripple Rug. Like this!
About the Ripple Rug
As demonstrated by Dexter and Sophie, the Ripple Rug will keep your cat entertained and offers a wonderful play area. Cats will love to claw into it, chew it or just hang out on it. And cats who enjoy the comfort of small spaces will love to burrow into the ripples or even hang out under the top rug layer.
Each Ripple Rug is made in the USA and uses 24 post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. There are great instructions on their website on how to set up the Ripple Rug, use it and clean it.
The Ripple Rug’s features are:
- Ripple Rug dimensions: Top and bottom rug each measure 35 x 47 inches when unfolded
- Top rug properties: Contains 14 holes of varying sizes
- Bottom rug properties: Anti-slip rubber coating also helps insulate from cold floors
- Carpet construction: 100% polyester fibers made from recycled plastic bottles
- Top rug contains: Multiple touch-point fasteners made from Velcro made in the USA
- Resistant to: Mold, mildew and stains
- Total weight: Under 4lbs
Currently, the Ripple Rug is available for purchase on the Ripple Rug website for $39.00. It comes in three colors: beige, ivory and mocha chocolate. (We received the mocha chocolate color and love it!)

Watch what happened to Sophie while Dexter was having fun with the Ripple Rug. Wait for it…! (No cats were harmed in the filming of this video. 😻)
Follow Three Chatty Cats on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest!
That looks so cool. Although it also stresses me out a bit. I have a think for rugs that aren’t flat on the floor and having to flatten them haha. I liked how Sophie copied Dexter.
I totally love the idea… maybe it is available for dogs too ;o)
Yes, our cats would love exploring it!
Now that’s a playground we could sink our teeth and nails into! Purrfect!
That is SUCH a clever idea! Hidey spots, places to put toys for surprises – it’s got it all.
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
That’s a really cool rug/toy.
Unfortunately the shipping cost to Canada almost doubles the price :( Neat though – was fun watching your kitties enjoy it!

My cats would LOVE this!!!

Sophie is a good helper. I know my Trouble would love to play with that.
Both my cats would probably like this. Especially, my female, Keala. Maybe it would stop her from being naughty on other things.
i never had a ripple rug but I think my cat would think that was heaven… her new happy place
I wonder if my cats would like this
Drat! We live in such a small condo, we wouldn’t have room for this but I’d love it. This is how we play with tissue paper. TW wiggles a peacock feather or long straw under it and I go nutz.
What’s nice is that it rolls up easily to tuck out of the way when your cat isn’t playing with it.
They’d use it all the time.
This looks like fun!
I think both my cats would love this … especially to play together!
I think both my cats would love this … especially to play together!
Looks like tons of fun! The kittens always need new enrichments.

The kitties at Best Friends LOVE this rug when we use it in playgroup!
Oh wow, I had no idea something like this existed! My cats love to try and play under the sheets while I make the bed, so I know they would love it. Such a clever invention!
Not sure but would love to give it a try with my cat Daisy Mae. I think she would like.
Ripple rugs are sooooo much fun!! I have a ripple rug and love it …but my foster brother and sisters would love it too!!
This is so cool! My cats would love this rug! They love interactive toys to play with. I’d love to hide their treats in here too :)
What a great idea! I’m pretty sure Ava would give that a try or two. :)
Wow. That would keep me from getting in trouble when I (very rarely) scratch the rug. Paw-some! I’ll pass it along to her
Sorry – that last comment was from me, Kommando Kitty
I’ve never seen a rug like that before! It has holes on purr-pose?! Tee hee hee. Ooh, I bet lots of featheries and mousies could hide in those holes, but they wouldn’t escape my paw for long!
I could definitely see this as something both my cats would love. Selune would like all the little holes and wrinkles to explore. Pandora would simply like to claw at the material. 😁
I was always after this ripple rug! They now ship to Canada but unfortunately shipping is way too much! Love seeing the kitties having so much fun with it ;)
Dr. Yang and Dobby love to hunt and hide. I would like to find out if this sparks their hunting instincts.
How much fun this would be with 5 active kitties! I can only imagine all the toys that would be hidden in the ripple rug!
i dont have cats, i think my dogs would like it, but i would donate to safe haven for cats. i think my dogs would try to hide toys and treats in the rug.
My 3 cats would have a blast with the ripple rug! My dog would probably like it too lol!
This would be a blast! We love hidey holes and playing with toys under a rug or blanket!
