Tortie Talk Tuesday with Olive

Olive here! It has come to my attention that some readers have noticed that I don’t appear on the Mama’s blog as often as my siblings. Or that I ever appear with my siblings in pictures. So, I thought I’d drop in today with a couple of updates and one surprise for you.

First off, let me tell you that I like to keep things mysterious, which is why I don’t allow the Mama to snap my picture often. She always has a camera or phone in her hands, so I usually run the other way when I see her coming. But when I do allow it, I look oh so bee-oo-tee-full! Don’t you agree? Well, don’t you?!?

Secret Paws

We Three Chatty Cats were so excited that we got to participate in the cat blog Secret Paws exchange! We did our shopping and shipped off our package over the weekend. We can’t wait to see what our fellow kitties thought of the goodies! We won’t say who we sent the package to…only that it’s headed east! We’re California kitties, so that may not be much of a hint.

Goodies for the kitties and something for the human behind the kitties.
Where is the package headed?

A Little Holiday Break

The Mama wanted me to let you all know that we will be taking a short break from blogging. She’s attempting to move this very blog to a self-hosted platform and thought the end of the year would be a perfect time to do it. As people enjoy the holiday season and blog and visit a bit less, it felt like a good time to make sure the transition goes well.

If you see anything a bit wonky when you visit, it could be because the Mama is still working on the transition and making updates. Paws crossed that it goes smoothly!

A Surprise

Are you still with me? I hope so! Here’s that surprise I mentioned in the beginning of the post…

Sophie and I spent a little time together in the same chair! In all honesty, I wasn’t too happy about it. Sophie had to slink up slowly and lay on the edge. But, I did allow it. This wasn’t the only time either. The Mama has caught us several times together, even without Dexter as a buffer. Sophie and I never cuddle, but I do allow her near me. Sometimes. Am I getting soft in my old age?

By the way, did you see Sophie’s Spotlight Thursday post over on Piglove last week? (The Mama is making me tell you about it.)

I’ve got my eye on her…

You still have a day or two to enter the last couple of 12 Days of Giveaways over at Cat Lady Alley!

This is how I prefer to cuddle. Just with Dexter. No Sophie in sight!

  1. You are beyond beautiful, Olive! Isn’t Secret Paws exciting??? This will be my second year participating and Mommy & I will be wrapping our gifts this afternoon. She says I’ll have to wait until closer to Christmas to open mine when it arrives. She’s such a party pooper sometimes! –Mudpie

  2. Yep I have three cats too. Morgan isn’t all that fond of Mollie. If Mollie is lying on the same loveseat, Morgan will keep one eye (she only has one eye) open a slit to make sure nothing happens. Always makes me laugh.

  3. I am like you Olive, I RUN when the phone comes out too!!! I am also certain some kitty (or kitties) are going to love their prezzies! This is the first year in a few that we couldn’t participate and we are sad about it. No green papers so we had to make our priorities, food and lights ;) Good luck with moving the blog!! That is not fun!! Love, Cody

  4. Olive…first off, I love your name! Second, you are beautiful, and nice to see you. I’m thinking that someday soon, you’ll learn that a Sophie and Dexter sandwich…which you in the middle…makes for some toasty napping!

  5. Torties are so special! My Miss Yummy has such a purrsonality and is the alpha/mama kitty most of the time! Thank you for sharing your kitties and the blog! Can’t wait to see what is in store for 2017!

  6. OMC, Olive, you sure are a beauty! Torties have a mysterious air about them anyway. You really do need to let the Mama take more pics of you. I think it’s great that you are getting more comfortable with Sophie. Sometimes it takes time to feel comfy with everyone, and that’s OK.

  7. Such precious photos. Please forgive us for not being around much. Hopefully by the time you come back in the new year, Mom will be functioning better. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  8. I just read Sophie’s spotlight at Bacon’s, very nice. Great job wrapping all those gifts. I will miss you on your break so hurry back. XO

  9. Oh Olive you are bootyful. And ya’ll look adorable together. you know it makes da mommies happy when we cuddle with our siblings. Not sure why, but they do enjoy it so. So just think of it as makin’ your mommy happy, not gettin’ soft. MOL Big hugs to ya’ll.

    Luv ya’

We hope the transition goes smoothly and effortlessly, and we think the pictures of mew all together are so cute!

  11. It’s so nice to see you, Olive. Yes, you are quite the beauty. We finally got our Secret Paws package together…we just need to get the mom to mail it. Enjoy your break…we hope all goes well with the blog move.

  12. Olive you are a beautiful tortie chick indeed! Enjoy your blog break through the holiday while your Mom works on your blog – it’s a good time to take a break – you will have Mom all to yourselves!! Good for you allowing Sophie to make a few BABY STEPS towards hanging out with you. It’s not always easy is it?! We didn’t do SECRET PAWS this year since I was so sick and then of course I went to Rainbow Bridge on December 2. It’s a wonderful bunch of people who participate though – I am SURE whoever gets your package will love everything!

    Hugs and Merry Christmas!

  13. You are indeed lovely, Miss Olive! And keep those other kitties guessing and in their place! I knew I wouldn’t have my act together enough for Secret Paws, but I am participating in Cheshire Kitten’s book exchange. That’s fun, too!

  14. That’s a super duper cute cuddle picture with Dexter. We do understand about not always wanting to be photographed, Olive. We have another cat named Moo Shu who has only appeared on the blog maybe once or twice in three years! She is quite private and takes off for the hills (under the bed) any time she sees the camera.

  15. Olive, you’re a beauty, for sure! It’s so nice to see you, and the pictures of all of you together totally made us smile. :)

Good luck on moving your blog over. We have our fingers and paws crossed that it all goes smoothly.

  16. Olive is purrfection. Glad I stopped by. Blog hopping is a rare treat for me these days. Good luck with the blog migration. I had a disastrous one at my other blog migrating to WP. I strongly suggest using a good pro.
